About Us
Dogs Naturally is a family run training school which has been established for 5 years. Our training staff are all experienced in dealing with common dog behavioural problems, as well as dealing with a wide variety of breeds (from miniature daschund to great dane) and ages of dogs (our youngest puppy came at 8 weeks, and our oldest dog at training is 11).
Dogs Naturally was founded by Anne Goldsack, Tamzin Wood & Amanda Bax. We wanted to run a training school which was totally different to other dog clubs; we wanted it to be fun - no more walking around in circles whilst the trainer stands in the middle shouting instructions - it should be in an environment which is as stress free as possible for the dogs, teaches "real-life" skills, using a method which is more effective than conventional training and allows for the individual learning styles of both dog and handler, and allows anyone to teach any breed at any age with no limits to what can be taught..... So Dogs Naturally was born....

Anne Goldsack

Anne owns a 10 year old springer x collie, but has owned Great danes, Wolfhounds, Springer spaniels and an Afghan x Saluki. She says that Pasha (her Afghan x Saluki) was her greatest teacher since hounds have the most amazing attitude to life and training! Anne has also shown dogs in the past and taken part in agility and flyball.
Anne has attended many courses during her 10 years of clicker training. She has been on courses with Sheila Harper canine education, Turid Rudgaas, Sarah Whitehead, Uk registry of Canine Behaviourists, Catherine O'Driscoll, Sheila Bailey, Kay Lawrence, Vicky Halls, Val Strong & Neil Garrod. These have covered clicker training, stress in dogs and calming signals, dog behaviour, canine nutrition, alternatives to conventional vaccinations, feline behaviour and instructors classes for puppies, pet dog training, agility, competition obedience and general clicker training. She also holds a Kennel Club Bronze Examiner certificate (qualifying her to test KC Bronze level tests), and is waiting to take her Silver & Gold Examiners tests.
She acts as a primary trainer for the puppy class, Adolescents, Silver, Gold+ and Top class, and as a secondary trainer giving individual help as required.
Anne also works as a dog and cat behaviourist - seeing people who have dog (and cat) behavioural problems which are not appropriate to be solved in group training classes. She is also currently studying for her Companion Animal Bereavement certificate to be able to give help and advice to people who are devastated by the loss of a beloved pet.
Tamzin Wood

Tamzin owns an 10 year old terrier x and an 8 year old English Springer Spaniel. She grew up with large breeds (great danes and wolfhounds) but when she chose her dogs decided that smaller breeds ate less and you can see the TV past them when they stand in front of it!
Tamzin began clicker training around 10 years ago as her terrier x found it very difficult to cope with conventional training, and found that clicker training offered an alternative. During that time Tamzin has been on a number of courses with Sarah Whitehead, Turid Rudgaas, Vicky Halls, Kay Lawrence, Val Strong & Neil Garrod studying dog nutrition, stress in dogs, calming signals, dog behaviour, feline behaviour, and alternatives to conventional vaccinations. Both her dogs have passed their Kennel Club Bronze, Silver and Gold awards and take part in agility and flyball.
Tamzin has a particular interest in animal nutrition and the role that diet plays in dog behaviour and learning. She acts as a primary trainer for the adult dogs intake and Gol classes, secondary trainer giving extra support as required, and is the Dogs Naturally administrator.
Tamzin holds a City Guilds 730 teaching certificate which qualifies her to teach any subject to adults, worked as an IT trainer for 14 years, and is currently studying for a part-time degree.
Amanda Bax

Amanda owns a 5 year old border terrier and an 11 year old partially deaf cocker spaniel. She grew up with working gundogs, but is commonly known as "the terrier lady" since she understands and loves terrier attitude!
Her border terrier Monty started being clicker trained at 8 weeks and has passed his Kennel Club Bronze, Silver & Gold awards and works in our Top Class. Monty has also taken part in our summer agility and flyball classes (although he prefers fly-sausage to fly-ball)...
Amanda acts as the secondary trainer during classes - she gives individual help as needed, and can be relied on to have a mine of alternative methods to use when a suggested teaching method does not fit the style of a handler or (more importantly) their dog!
Amanda has taken courses with Sheila Harper Canine Education, Turid Ruudgas, Kay Lawrence, Catherine O'Driscol and Neil Short to widen her clicker training, dog behaviour knowledge and practical skills.
Amanda had previously trained using conventional methods, but converted to clicker training 5 years ago - she says that "now I have seen the incredible things you can do training your dog with a clicker, there is no other way for me!"
Jan Wilson

Jan owns 3 German Shepherds - her 2 boys (shown in the photo) came to her as puppies, and her bitch came to her as a rescue.
Jan began clicker training 3 years ago with Khan when he was 12 weeks old. Jan has worked her way up the classes with Khan, taking Kennel Club Bronze, Silver & Gold and then came to work in our Top Class. Jan then repeated the process with Axel when he joined her family!
Jan is now teaching Khan free-style (dog dancing) and Axel is learning competition obedience.
Rita Roper

Rita is a vital support member of our team - she keeps up supplied with tea, greets new handlers who come to watch our classes, and acts as a runner during classes.
Rita owns a 10 year old working border collie which she started training conventionally, but converted to clicker training about 5 years ago when she had a number of problems which she could not resolve with conventional handling.
She acts as our "welcomer" to handlers who come to watch our classes - keeping them supplied with tea, and giving any children who come things to play with.
Rita has passed Kennel Club Bronze, Silver & Gold with Bobby, and currently works in our Top Class. She has also taken part in agility and flyball with Bobby.
We all undertake to expand our knowledge each year by attending courses in dog behaviour, clicker training techniques, animal nutrition, as well as classes in teaching fun & problem solving courses. Anne and Tamzin also hold a Dorwest Herbs Certificate which tested their knowledge of Dorwest Herbs products and their use in animal treatment and nutrition. |
